Copyright Content Policy

We built TheMiniKid to be safe for kids and fair to creators. This page explains where our library comes from, how we credit it, and how to report anything you believe shouldn't be here.

Where our library comes from

Our learning library is made up of three kinds of material, all used with care for the original creators:

  • Videos are embedded directly from YouTube using YouTube's own player. We never download, re-host or strip the video file — the view counts, ads (if any) and creator credit all stay with the original channel. YouTube's Terms of Service grant every viewer a sublicense to embed videos that have embedding enabled, so this is a use YouTube and the uploader have authorised.
  • Books come from Project Gutenberg, a library of works in the U.S. public domain. We re-typeset them for easy reading on a child's screen, and the original author and source are credited on every book.
  • Comics are public-domain titles from the Internet Archive, used under their open-access terms.

We do not host pirated textbooks, copyrighted trade books, or paywalled course material. If we ever did by mistake, we want to know — see the takedown process below.

Credit where it's due

Every item in the library shows its source — the creator or channel for videos, the author and Project Gutenberg for books, and the Internet Archive for comics — along with a link to the original so a curious family can go straight to the creator. Driving traffic back to the people who made the work is part of how we stay a good partner to the educational community.

Reporting content (takedown requests)

If you believe any item in our library infringes a copyright or other right you hold, tell us and we will review it quickly — usually within two business days. To help us act fast, include:

  1. The title of the item and its page URL on TheMiniKid.
  2. Where the item appears in our library (subject / grade).
  3. The original work and right you believe is infringed, and your relationship to it.
  4. Your name and a way to reach you.

Email us at copyright@theminikid.com or use our contact form and choose "Copyright / takedown" as the topic.

On a valid request we remove or disable the item from the library, and we keep a record of the action. We also apply the same review to anything a parent or teacher flags as wrongly graded or unsuitable for children.

A note on the DMCA

TheMiniKid is a small, family-run learning platform. We follow the spirit of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act: we act on valid takedown notices promptly, we don't knowingly host infringing material, and we reserve the right to reinstate content where a notice is shown to be mistaken. If you are unsure whether something is infringing, we're happy to talk it through first — reach us at the email above.
